Tooth Fillings
Small cavities and worn areas can be easy to overlook, especially if nothing hurts yet. Tooth-colored fillings allow us to repair those areas early, preserving more of your natural tooth and keeping changes subtle.

What Is a Tooth Filling?
A dental filling fixes parts of a tooth weakened by decay, small cracks, or everyday wear. For tooth-colored fillings, we use a composite resin that closely matches your natural enamel, so the repair blends in.
During your visit, we remove the damaged portion of the tooth and clean the area thoroughly. We then place the composite material in layers, shape it to fit your bite, and use a curing light to harden it.
Once finished, the tooth feels solid again and functions normally without drawing attention to the repair.

When Is a Filling Necessary?
We recommend a dental filling when a tooth has early to moderate damage that can be repaired without more extensive treatment:
- Tooth decay that has created a cavity
- Small fractures or chips that weaken the tooth
- Areas of enamel worn down from grinding or clenching
- Old or damaged fillings that need replacement
How Long Do Dental Fillings Last?
With good care, tooth-colored fillings often last for many years. How long they hold up depends on how you use your teeth, your home care routine, and how often you come in for checkups. Regular cleanings and exams help us keep an eye on them and catch changes.
Do Dental Fillings Hurt?
Most patients find fillings very manageable. We numb the area beforehand, so you stay comfortable throughout the procedure. Some mild sensitivity afterward is normal, but it typically fades within a few days.
